Our Book Summary: 29 Nuggets of Wisdom: Volume 1

Hi, I am Nugget, grow your membership site with Paid Memberships Pro and WordPress

We just finished reading the 29 Nuggets of Wisdom: Volume 1, written by Kimberly Coleman, Sam Daugherty, and Jason Coleman.

This book is for anyone building or growing a membership or subscription-based business, offering practical insights and timeless lessons from the Paid Memberships Pro team’s decade-long journey to help readers overcome challenges, connect with their audience, and run a more successful operation.

My Summary

Every business owner has a community, which consists of people who support and patronise their business. Your business is not about you; it’s about your customers, isn’t it?

You can be the center of attention, but it’s still not about you; it’s about what value you bring to the table. Be yourself. Stand out. Be of service to someone out there. Be crystal-clear.

Listen to your customers, and let them know their voices are heard, too. Paint a vivid picture of the positive changes and improvements your customers, members, viewers, and readers will experience by being a part of your community.

Last but not least, make sure your brand voice and look are consistent across your website and social channels.

Her Summary

This book talks about 29 key insights of trying to inspire clarity, confidence, and consistent actions in building and growing a successful business. Coleman emphasises the importance of mindset, trust, dedication, and continuous learning, encouraging business owners to maintain focus on their goals while embracing gratitude and intentionality in their journey.

Although the book targets membership builders specifically, its lessons are broadly applicable to anyone looking to improve leadership skills and entrepreneurial efforts.

The nugget of wisdom serves as a concise reminder to take bold steps, persist through challenges, and align one’s actions with a clear purpose for those seeking encouragement and strategic thinking to support long-term success.

Coleman’s books provide valuable experience based on guidance into actionable thoughts.

So my two nuggets that stand out.

  • People don’t care about you, they care about themselves, so build to solve their problems.
  • Churn can be okay; not all memberships are supposed to last forever.
